Pora Tulku Rinpoche’s Hospital in Nangchen Par Ka, Eastern Tibet
Feb 5th, 2009 by admin
Coming soon … information regarding this medical project in Tibet.
This comes from a friend of dd.org: “[Rinpoche is] particularly interested in getting help with the treatment of tuberculosis, maternal and child, neonatal illness, dental disease, and eye disease (mainly cataracts). He needs equipment, particularly ultrasound equipment, technicians, physicians, nurses, the whole gamut. Needless to say, it’s a long term project and multi-generational.
It can provide some interested people with a great opportunity to be in a community that isn’t visited by tourists, to be at home with the Rinpoche, his friends and family, fellow monks and traditional medical practitioners. As well, it’s quite an adventure to get there. Rinpoche gave me a choice: horseback or truck, with the horses being more reliable.
If you or colleagues are interested in any way in talking about the project, I’d be very pleased to talk or meet with you.”
We will be adding more information as it becomes available.

I am planning a trip to the Nangchen this summer to bring medicine and solar power to a Monastery and village called Raktrul. Please contact me as we may be able to collaborate.

Dear Kirk,
Thanks for your reply. I’m only now by chance picking it up as I haven’t checked this site since first posting my message. Any way of communicating by phone?
I may meet with Paltul Rinpoche tomorrow, Sunday, June 21 and can also inform him of your work to see if there isn’t a way to share the expenses of equipment etc. I believe he is interested in setting up a real, teritary care center, though this is still unclear.
Please be in touch.
Regards,
Don
Hello, Great discussion.
I am the founder of Acupuncture Ambassadors (www.acupunctureambassadors.org). At present we are helping a group called Moxafrica.org They are doing a Phase II study using moxibustion for TB and HIV. I know that is research will transform the work of medical practitioners to fight TB worldwide.
I would be very interested in working with all groups including other Acupuncture groups to help people in Tibet. Let me know what we may be able to do together.
Thank you.
Best regards, Anthony
