Greetings all - I would like to announce this free Tuesday teleclass played at 4 times. Peter Levine on se and trauma. In my work, somatics is closely related to mindfulness. Enjoy.
http://www.nicabm.com/teleseminar/2010/trauma/#options
Please contact me at www.makinghealthyhabitshappen.com if you have difficulty with the link.
Also, I offer myself as a resource. Some free teleclasses are offered. I offer mindfulness-based ontological coaching (lots of syllables). A concrete model based in current neuroscience), and mindful centering to individuals, organizations and employee wellness programs. 15 years running a program at Overlake Hospital. Also a social worker, exercise physiologist. I receive referrals from sleep docs, psychiatrists and gp's/internists for struggles with weight as well as broadly based coaching.

Hello fellow practitioners interested in the benefits of practicing mindfulness and resources for your patients. I teach a Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy Group for people who have experienced Depression or Anxiety and are currently in remission looking for relapse prevention support. I would love to connect with other colleagues who are practicing mindfulness and using this practice with their patients. Please contact me if you know of a group of practicing providers and/or if you have questions about whether the classes at the UW would be appropriate for a possible referral. Warmly, Regina Segura-Khagram MA MS LMFT

Thanks so much Don! I've gone ahead and posted some of the descriptions so others can easily link to them and learn about the fascinating offerings at the Upaya Institute. Please feel free to let me know about any other related conferences. All the best,

Hello Mark
I recently attended a retreat focusing on recent neuroscientific advances in mindfulness and meditation. I believe the topics would be of interest to health care professionals who use these approaches in their practices. The conference presentations are available at:
http://www.upaya.org/programs/event.php?id=170.
with regards
Don
also I have a list of related conferences coming up that might be of interest to visitors of dharmadoctors.org

I noted that you don't have many resources for childbirth on this website. I saw a really interesting article regarding tibetan buddhism and childbirth. If you're interested, this could be a great addition to your site. It seems like many of the practices here are being used in an adapted form by some practitioners in the field of obstetrics.

Thanks!

Hi Don-- What a great idea--creating a list of practitioners in specific geographic areas who are interested in mindfulness-based approaches in their work! Unfortunately, while there are certainly many buddhists in the region, I have yet to come across many MDs interested. Maybe 1 or 2 at HMC, but really not many others. Maybe I should create a place on the site itself for such a listing. Perhaps a "Directory" tab at the top of the home-page where practitioners could list themselves. Good luck and please keep me informed of other like-minded practitioners! Welcome to Seattle. --Mark McCabe MD (admin)

Hello admin,
I've recently moved to Seattle and would like to know about other docs and health care providers working with mindfulness-based approaches in their practices and/or volunteer work. Could you provide contact information for any such individuals or groups? Thanks, Don Maurer, MD
